F1 Carlos Sainz In Bad Crash In Russian GP

F1 Toro Rosso driver Carlos Sainz has been airlifted to hospital after a high-speed crash with the barriers during final practice in the Russian GP. But the 21-year-old was conscious and even managed to give the thumbs-up as he was put into the back of an ambulance on a stretcher and taken by helicopter.

Sainz’s Toro Rosso was stuck in the tyre barrier at the high-speed turn 13 section of the track which runs through Sochi Park. The red flags were deployed and with 14 minutes remaining the decision was taken not to restart the session. More will be shared as we get the updates.
