Dietmar Voggenreiter (46) is to take over the position of Board of Management Member for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG as of November 1. After gaining a doctorate at the University of Stuttgart, Dietmar Voggenreiter was employed at the management consulting company Horváth & Partners, where he was head of the automotive industry competence center, among other functions. In 2002, Voggenreiter moved to AUDI AG. At first, he held a senior position in controlling, after which he became the head of strategic corporate planning. Since 2007, Voggenreiter was in charge of the China business of AUDI AG. As of 2009, he was President of Audi China.
Under his management, unit sales in China increased from 82,000 to 579,000 vehicles in 2014. The number of models sold in that market has increased from six to 39 during his time there. At the same time, the local models included in the portfolio has risen from two to six. The number of dealers has grown in the past nine years from 120 to more than 400. The China business accounted for one third of total unit sales by the Four Rings in 2014. Under Luca de Meo, who took over the position of Board of Management Member for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG in September 2012, sales have increased every year. In the past three years, Audi’s worldwide deliveries have grown by almost a quarter.
He will succeed in that position to Luca de Meo (48), who will move to SEAT as the new CEO. Under the leadership of Voggenreiter, who has managed the China business for nine years, unit sales in the country increased by six hundred percent to the number of 579,000 cars delivered in 2014.
