The first official design sketches for the new Volkswagen Tiguan have been unveiled ahead of the 2015 IAA. The new Tiguan seems to be heavily inspired by this vehicle, the Cross Coupe GTE Concept:
There are a few significant departures from the concept, but the overall shape is still retained. The biggest changes are the slightly more conventional looking head and tail lights and the addition of a Hoffmeister kink and chrome trim.
Expect it to be based on the VW MQB platform be lighter than the outgoing model. In terms of powerplant options, expect a 1.4 TSI petrol, 2.0 TDI diesel and a plug-in hybrid version to be made available. More details as they emerge.
