The CX-3, like all of Mazda’s current products, blends premium and attainable extremely well. We managed to get a brief glimpse of the small crossover while at Mazda’s headquarters. Here’s what it looks like, inside and out.
as expected the car will receive a host of SKYACTIV technology boosts. Expect either the 1.3-litre or possibly the 2.0-litre petrol to be offered in Malaysia, with the 1.5-litre diesel being put on the backburner until higher quality fuel is available to the masses.
The interior, at least in the Japanese market, is absolutely perfect. The seats are finished in white with leather and alcantara used extensively throughout. There’s a leather-wrapped steering with a very high quality dashboard that is reminiscent of the Mazda 2’s.
The front grille follows the same Mazda design formula, but is a little more angular than the CX-5, its bigger brother, once again, with unmistakeable Mazda2 genetics.
The rear end is pretty special. The C-pillar is blacked-out to give the impression of a floating roof and emphasise the crossover’s coupe styling. Just like he CX-5, expect plastic cladding to underscore the crossover look.
