The limited edition Engineer Hydrocarbon Arctic chronometer watch by Swiss watchmaker BALL Watch honours Edward Whymper and Jean Antonine Carrel, both in their respective missions in 1865 conquered the heights of the Matterhorn, one of the highest peaks in the European Alps. Designed to survive extreme conditions, this limited edition timepiece houses a Swiss Made, COSC certified automatic chronometer movement (BALL RR 1101-C).
This all weather wrist watch uses special arctic hydrocarbon chain lubricants for over land and under water operations to -40 degree Celsius. The COSC certified mechanical automatic movement ensures high accuracy in timekeeping. This timepiece is also designed to withstand shocks up to 5,000G and has antimagnetic resistance up to 4,800 A/m fields. The highly durable stainless steel case measuring 42 mm diameter and 13.25mm thickness is equipped with state of the art sealed system and crown protection system for ensuring water resistance up to 300 meters.
The scratch proof uni-directional bezel in Ceramic features markings for solar compass usage, mission elapsed time and remaining oxygen supply time. The unique 31 self powered tritium gas tubes on the black dial offers high visibility even during extreme dark conditions. The superluminova coatings on ceramic bezel markings also increase legibility. Other features of this timepiece include sapphire crystal glass with antireflective coating and stainless steel case back with engravings and serial number.
This timepiece is supplied with an Italian made NATO strap for extended use. The outside weather clothing with fail safe function keeps the watch secure even when attached to only one pair of lugs. It can also be ordered with an optional steel bracelet with patented folding buckle at 1400Nm impact resistance and link extension system of for wearing over snow jackets/wet suits.
