The latest video fresh off the Nurburgring shows a Mercedes-Benz SLC with camouflage on that masks the car entirely, save for its headlights. This deliberately exposed bit of the car is enough to show us that the car will have its ‘eyes’ bear more of a family resemblance. Instead of mounting its Daytime Running Lights on the bumper, it’s neatly integrated into the headlight unit bringing it closer to the current Mercedes face.
The SLC isn’t an exactly an all-new product though. Instead, think of it as a facelifted model of the SLK with the name change merely signifying a move towards implementing its revised nomenclature. Being a facelift, you can expect a number of changes to its appearance and updates to its mechanicals as well.
Details are sketchy, but what we do know is that the SLC 450 AMG Sport edition of the car will come with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 that can put out 367 PS and 517 Nm, but until the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, don’t expect too much more information to leak.
