Photos of the 2016 911 Carrera testing at the Nürburgring have just surfaced on the internet, and it looks as if Porsche aren’t even bothering to cover the car up in camouflage anymore! Why the exclamation mark? Well, because that means an official unveiling online should be coming soon, or at least before the public showing at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
This particular range of face-lifted 911s is particularly special, as most believe that with the exception of the GT3 models, they’ll all come turbocharged. Witnesses at the Nürburgring also testified to the very turbo-like sounds coming off this particular 911, further reinforcing the idea.
Expect 2.7-litre and 3.4-litre six cylinder petrol engines to make it into production models, but hold off for official details. For now, let’s take a closer look at what’s changed on the outside.
First of all, the headlights, tail lamps and Daytime-Running Lights have been tweaked. There are also new bumpers and exhaust tips that are closer together. Finally, there’s also vertical slats over the engine cover, but it’s difficult to see in this picture.
