The Audi S4 is the sport-focused version of Audi’s popular A4 small sedan. Prototypes of this new version have already been spotted undergoing tests, revealing most of the visual updates we can expect on the outside. But what’s yet to be confirmed is just what engine will be fitted under the hood.
It was previously thought that the new S4 would receive an uprated version of the supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 found in the outgoing model. In the new S4, the engine will deliver around 350 peak horsepower, and in the RS 4 the same engine will deliver closer to 500 hp. The current S4 makes do with 333 hp from its supercharged V-6, while the current RS 4 generates 450 hp from a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V-8.
