As Formula Masters China Series (FMCS) continues in its quest to develop China’s and the region’s future motorsport talents the series has been further bolstered by the addition of a new team: Absolute Racing.
A successful and respected member of the Asian motorsport community, Absolute Racing already runs teams in the region’s most prestigious championships, including the Audi R8 LMS Cup, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and the GT Asia Series with Bentley Team Absolute. Its two-car entry to Asia’s leading open-wheel junior series is part of its overall development strategy.
Said Absolute Racing Team Director Ingo Matter: “The Absolute Racing strategy is to develop young drivers through our teams in Asia and beyond. Formula Masters China Series is the best single seater series in Asia, and will enable us to nurture young talent to progress within the team. For our series debut, our drivers – Briton Sennan Fielding, who has considerable European experience, and China’s Sun Zheng, who is a successful Asian driver – will work with the team to ensure the Absolute Racing performance is flawless ahead of our first full FMCS season in 2016.”
The addition of the prestigious new team illustrates the growing influence and standing of FMCS across the region and beyond.
Meet the drivers …
Sennan Fielding (Great Britain): “This is a great opportunity to come out to this side of the world. I’ve been out in the car already – it’s fantastic. This series is extremely good and I’m just really excited to be here.”
Sun Zheng (China): “This is a great challenge for me. Competition in this series is tough and I am sure I will learn a lot and continue to develop racing against drivers from across Asia, and the world.”
