With just a couple of days standing between us and the grand reveal of the all-new BMW 7-Series, the Austrians, of all people, have leaked a whole lot of information regarding the price and specifications of the upcoming S-Class rival.
The exact website that revealed it was BMW’s official Austrian site, which featured the 7-Series car configurator for just a short while. This allowed for information such as the car’s base price and engine output figures to be leaked. The base model is a 265 PS diesel-powered for €100,445 – and this can be equipped with xDrive (essentially BMW’s 4-wheel drive system) for an extra €7000. This engine is slightly more powerful than the diesel Mercedes equivalent, but a lot more expensive too.
The cheapest petrol 7-Series is the 740i, which is propelled by a 326 PS straight 6 turbo costing €107,690. The 750i with xDrive puts out about 450 PS and is priced at €137,935. Besides engine output and prices, the Austrian site also showed which colours would be made available. Namely Alpine White, Carbon Black, Black Sapphire, Black (non-metallic), Cashmere Silver, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue, Mineral White, Singapore Grey, Jatoba, Magellan Gray and Arctic Gray Brilliant.
Rim sizes start at 17 inches and max out at 20, and there’s a full-LED adjustable headlight package available as well as a new M Sport option.
