At Subaru’s New York Auto Show stand, a large blue sports car was seen being left on display. At first little was known about the car besides its obvious BRZ roots, then it was revealed that the car in question was none other than the BRZ STI Performance Concept.
Aesthetically, the car had many upgrades over the standard BRZ, including larger multi-spoke alloy rims and wider fenders and updated side vents. An oversized rear spoiler also makes it into the new package, with roof and side mirror caps being finished in black.
Subaru’s only rear-wheel drive, front-engined car has had its chassis and steering calibrated for the track with this new iteration.
No official word on the car’s performance but the car’s objective seemed to be more on Subaru Technica International (STI) and Subaru’s performance and motorsport push in the North American Market. Still, it’s safe to expect adjustable suspension and track tires on top of some of the other expected goodies.
