Photos of the actual DB9 successor in its production form have finally begun to surface. Yes, it’s heavily camouflaged, but this is the actual car in the flesh for the very first time! Previous spy shots have been of test mules without the new car’s actual body panels or fittings.
To be perfectly clear, this isn’t the car that’s being featured in the new 007 film. THAT car’s called the DB10. As mentioned in an earlier post, this DB9 replacement will be called the DB11, but it borrows a lot of styling cues with the DB10.
Take the profile, for instance. The new Aston tourer and the DB10 both cut very similar silhouettes, with the biggest difference being the smaller windows on the Bond car.
That being said, the headlights on the DB11 are a more like the ones you find on the Vantage, but this could be just a part of its disguise. The grille is a little lower here and doesn’t blend as seamlessly into the rest of the body panels like it does on the DB10.
The rear is nothing but pure camo, with fake taillights and panels covering it up all the way across. As we mentioned before, the DB11 will feature an AMG-sourced 4.0 V8 Turbo – a tuned version of the Mercedes-AMG GT sports. There’s also Aston’s own 6-litre V12 for the traditionalists.
