Honda revealed its Civic Concept at the New York International Auto Show ahead of the launch of Honda’s completely reimagined 10th-gen Civics. The new car has a sharper focus on spirited performance and class-leading versatility and will come in three variants, namely, sedan, coupe and Si, hatchback, and Type-R.
Featuring an slightly extended wheelbase and lower, wider stance, the new Civic embraces the legacy of the nameplate by being aggressively styled. The front hood is lengthened but with a shorter overhang, as well, adding the sporty look of the car.
The 10th-generation Civic is based on a small platform and aims to deliver class-leading efficiency, performance and safety. Honda’s new Earth Dreams Technology powertrains will be featured in the new car. This includes the new 1.5-liter VTEC turbo engine we mentioned a few weeks back as a possible entry-level engine. The car will go on sale in North America later this year.
