Remember the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept that debuted at the Geneva Auto Show? Apparently, it was more than just a design exercise; it was a glimpse into the company’s upcoming creation.
Reports suggest that the entire showcase was an experiment to gauge what customers would want from Bentley if were to produce a sporty 2-seater. They believe they can put something together in three years.
Bentley’s chairman, Wolfgang Dürheimer stated that the project would be more than just a new sports car – it would be a bold vision for a brand with a bold future. That being said, the production version of the EXP 10 Speed 6 will probably sport a shorter name and the same 4 litre twin-turbo V8 currently in use instead of the hybrid set-up they displayed.
Given that performance and top speed is what Bentley has stated its focus to be, it’s likely we’ll see something that’ll give Jaguar and Aston Martin a run for their money. Regardless of how well the final product stacks up, it’s nice to see Bentley tap its sporting heritage by aiming for something more sport-focused.
