The new MX-5 has been put into series production at Mazda’s Ujina Plant No.1 in Hiroshima meaning it will reach showrooms in Japan somewhere around the start of June. Overseas markets will see the model rolled out progressively after its domestic release.
Mazda’s latest 2-door roadster carries the Kodo design cues and will be just a little lighter than its predecessor. And when they say light, they mean light. The European spec measures in at just under a tonne and has the same 50:50 weight distribution one would expect of an MX-5.
