Tripda, an online carpooling platform that connects car drivers and passengers heading the same way is urging all motorists travelling back to their hometowns this festive season to carpool and helping to ease congestion on highways.
According to PLUS officials, traffic volume along the North-South Expressway is expected to reach 1.5 million vehicles on peak days – 18th and 19th February 2015 as well as on 21st and 22nd of February 2015.
Tripda believes that carpooling is the fastest way to reduce traffic congestion on highways while reducing travel cost with the driver and passengers sharing cost. “Traffic volume can be reduced tremendously if single-occupant vehicles heading the same direction were to carpool,” said Victor Ang, Tripda Malaysia’s Country Manager. “Single-occupant vehicles in Klang Valley make up more than 70% of the total number of vehicles travelling on the road everyday,” added Ang.
Carpooling using the Tripda platform is safe and fuss-free. Users can download the app via Apple App Store or Google Play and also access Tripda via its website www.tripda.com.my. To enjoy the convenience of Tripda, users just have to sign up on Facebook and register in order to offer a ride or find a ride by entering the date of travel and destination.
Tripda is free at the moment for all to enjoy. Users can look for rides and offer rides to save travel cost, reduce traffic congestion and also preserve the environment by reducing carbon emission.
