Motorsports enthusiast John Chu got up close and personal with endurance racing thanks to his lucky entry to Michelin Malaysia’s 2014 Asian Le Mans Series Facebook photo contest. Chu received not only VIP hospitality tickets to the recently concluded Asian Le Mans season finale at the Sepang International Circuit, he also got close to the ‘action’ and meet with the racers and their respective teams.
“I have always wanted to go to the paddock and see the action up close. I wish to thank Michelin Malaysia for this once-in-a-lifetime privilege that I will never forget,” said the 48-year-old Chu beaming with excitement.
Michelin Malaysia, commercial partner and the official tyre supplier of 2014 Asian Le Mans Series, rolled out a Facebook photo contest to offer its customers the ultimate VIP experience at the season finale in Sepang International Circuit.
Participants were required to snap a photo of MICHELIN tyres and post it on the Michelin Malaysia official Facebook page with a line about why they want to win the tickets to this race. The winners were allowed to bring a partner and enjoy the personalised VIP programme including admission to the exclusive air-conditioned hospitality suite, meet-and-greet session with the racing teams and behind-the-scenes tours.
“The MICHELIN tyres featured in my winning photo is the MICHELIN Pilot Super Sport which were newly installed a few days ago before the contest. For me, it is essential to have the right tyres on my car for optimum driving performance.
“I choose MICHELIN because it meets my needs of best balance of safety, longevity and fuel efficiency,” said Chu.
Speaking about his memorable experience at Sepang, Chu said he had always wanted to get behind the wheel of a race car and even dreamed of being a race car driver. “Having been invited to witness the excitement of the Asian championship with VIP access and hospitality, mingle with top Asian race car drivers and enjoying the privilege help in actualizing my dreams!”
