McLaren has just released a new version of the popular 650S, the 650S Le Mans Special Edition which will be limited to just 50 units for the global market. This new British supercar was developed in order to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the F1 GTR victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Back in 1995 at that year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, McLaren took home the checkered flag and added 3rd-, 4th-, 5th-, and 13th-place finishes to its historic victory. Now, 20 years later, McLaren and its Special Operations unit looks back on that race, paying homage to the event with this limited edition 650S.
Exterior
On the outside, the new McLaren 650S Le Mans Special Edition comes with a roof air scoop that is channeling air to the V8 engine and it also offers that great look. In addition, the British car manufacturer has modified the spoilers, have added new Le Mans Edition wheels and McLaren Orange calipers.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the McLaren 650S Le Mans Special Edition has black leather and orange Alcantara with Le Mans logo embossed on the headrests.
Engine
Under the hood is the same V8 3.8 liter twin-turbo engine rated at 650 horsepower and 678 Nm peak of torque. As a result, the car can run from stand still to 100km/h in just 3 seconds, while the top speed is an impressive 333km/h.
