Six rounds once again for the European, Asian and North American series, with the World Final in Sebring (USA). Sant’Agata Bolognese, 15 December 2014. Lamborghini Squadra Corse has confirmed the 2015 calendar for its three Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series in Europe, Asia and North America. Each series will hold two races over each weekend round, at the most prestigious circuits in the world.
The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo will see the debut this year of the new Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo in all three series. The Huracán race cars will share the grid with the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo, and continue the format of this year’s racing that concluded in Sepang where the World Final was held.
The 2015 World Final location will be an exciting one for all the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series: each will race in Sebring (Florida, USA) for both their sixth and final round of the season, immediately followed by the World Final on the 21/22 November.
Another development for the Asian and North American series is the addition of a PRO class, echoing that already in place in the European series. The 2015 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe will once more be part of the Blancpain Endurance Series racing weekends organized by Lamborghini’s partner SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organization).
Monza (Italy) again has the honor of starting the season on 11/12 April, followed by Silverstone (GBR) on 23/24 May, and Le Castellet (FRA) on 20/21 June. The fourth round will be in historic Spa-Francorchamps (BEL) during the prestigious 24hrs weekend (25/26 July), while the fifth venue will be in Germany at the Nürburgring on 19/20 September. The season concludes with the final round in late November in the USA.
The fourth season of the Asian series will kick off in Japan with Fuji (20/21 June) and in Motegi (11/12 July). The third meeting will be held in Malaysia (8/9 August) where the first ever street race in Kuala Lumpur city center is much awaited. The other two rounds will be held in Sentul (Indonesia) on 5/6 September, and in Shanghai (China) on 17/18 October. The sixth round will be in Sebring immediately preceding the World Final.
The third edition of the North American series will roll out in Laguna Seca (California, 2/3 May), Watkins Glen (New York, 27/28 June) and Alton (Virginia, 22/23 August). On the 18/19 September the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America will race for the first time ever in Cota, Texas. The fifth round is due in Road Atlanta (Georgia 1/3 October) with the series conclusion in Sebring.
The Swiss watch manufacturer Blancpain, title partner of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo since its first season in 2009, will continue its sponsorship of the three series in Europe, Asia and North America.
Sponsors Pirelli and OMP have also confirmed their technical support along with the technical sportswear manufacturer X-Bionic.
Lamborghini Squadra Corse has further expanded its initiatives dedicated to young talent. From the beginning of 2014, the Young Drivers Program has allowed the best drivers aged under 26, participating in one of the three Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series, to join Lamborghini Squadra Corse testing sessions. Building on the success of this initiative, in 2015 there will also be a Formula Junior Program to support the selected teams, both in Europe and in Asia, scouting for the best talent involved in single-seaters.
