The second Formula One F1 practice of the day was completed yesterday at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas in preparation for the 2014 United States Grand Prix GP. Fastest by the slimmest of margins was Lewis Hamilton and his No. 44 Mercedes with a lap of 1:39.085. Nico Rosberg and his No. 6 Mercedes was second quick at 1:39.088, just .003 behind.
Fernando Alonso and his No. 14 Ferrari was third quick at 1:40.189, after turning 29 laps during the session. Daniel Ricciardo and his No. 3 Red Bull Racing-Renault was fourth fastest followed by Felipe Massa (Williams-Mercedes), Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari), Daniil Kvyat (STR-Renault), Kevin Magnussen (McLaren-Mercedes), Jenson Button (McLaren-Mercedes), and Nico Hulkenberg (Force India-Mercedes).
Overall, 18 Formula One F1 entries turned laps yesterday. Marussia and Caterham are currently experiencing severe financial troubles and are not participating this weekend in Austin.
