Piaggio is teasing a new motorcycle, the Moto Guzzi V7 II. It is an evolution of the previous V7 design, the 2015 Moto Guzzi V7 II features an all-new close-ratio 6-speed gearbox, which also has a revised clutch. Other additions include dual-channel ABS brakes to the V7 line, as well as traction control; while other changes include moving the transverse 90º v-twin 10mm lower in the frame, and also pitching the lump forward 4º than on the previous generation.
Moto Guzzi says the new gearbox helps keeps the revs up between shifts, thanks to the closer ratio between the gears, which is further aided by the move from a five-speed gearbox to a six-speed.
The new engine placement helps with the bike’s aesthetic, says Moto Guzzi, and it also helps give taller riders a bit more room for their knees. Overall, the entire bike is 25mm lower, making it a friend not only to tall people, but also short people as well.
Like the previous V7, the 2015 Moto Guzzi V7 II comes in three variations, Stone (shown in these photos), Special, and Racer, the latter having sportier suspension, lower handlebars, and a solo seat. Available in Europe, starting in November 2014, there is no indication when the new V7 will come to Asia.
