Proton has just released teaser images of its all new global compact car which will be launched in a few weeks time.
The images show a 4 door hatchback with sharp edge styling that mimics the larger Proton sedans.
The interior shows class leading safety features like front and side air-bags for all passengers. The car will also be offered with an electric power steering (EPS) system for ease of steering and improved fuel-efficiency, along with a choice of either manual or automatic transmission. Proton claims that the new engines will be up to 10% more fuel-efficient in comparison to the older CamPro engines.
The audio unit shows an integrated parking assist feature with Bluetooth and navigation function. Start stop ignition button is included and there should be enough room for 5 adults. This new car will be equipped with no less than 10 computerised electronic systems, 6-airbags and Proton’s Reinforced Safety Structure (RESS) with Hot Press Forming technology.
Safety equipment will be segment leading as it gets ANCAP 5 Star rating and vehicle dynamic control also. 2 new engines will be offered, a 1.3 litre and a 1.6 litre, both of which incorporate variable valve timing (VVT) technology for more power and improved fuel-efficiency. Three variants will be offered, ‘Standard’, ‘Executive’ and ‘Premium’, in a range of seven different colours.
This new compact Proton will incorporate better quality components and a long list of standard features never before seen in a small Proton, more even than its bigger siblings the Preve and the Suprima S. Watch for more updates here as we get it.
