Cal Crutchlow will depart from the Ducati factory MotoGP squad after just a single season following confirmation of his switch to LCR Honda for 2015. The Briton will head Lucio Cecchinello’s satellite Honda outfit which will run under a slightly new name next year after the announcement of new title sponsor CWM.
Crutchlow has endured a miserable campaign with just 28 points to show for a season which has been dogged by injury and mechanical unreliability. It initially appeared as though the 29-year old would remain with Ducati for a second season but a statement from the Bologna squad confirmed that the two parties had agreed to terminate their agreement at the end of the current season. As a result, Andrea Iannone will be promoted to the factory team alongside Andrea Dovizioso.
