Bridgestone Tyre Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Bridgestone Malaysia) management and staff including Managing Director Mr. Jo Takekawa visited the House of Love Orphanage Home on 31st July 2014, as part of its social contribution programme in Malaysia. In addition, Bridgestone Malaysia sponsored four new Ecopia EP200 tyres for the Orphanage’s vehicle, which is used to transport the children to school and tuition daily. Aside from this, Bridgestone Malaysia also sponsored provisions and consumables to the centre.
House of Love was established in 2012 by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pang, together with a group of friends from different professions. At House of Love, underprivileged children stay in a home-style environment with stay-in parents/a nanny. Mr. Jo Takekawa, Managing Director of Bridgestone Malaysia said, “The Bridgestone Group commits itself to contributing to society not only through its business operations, but also through good corporate citizenship. In our efforts to support the local communities, we undertake initiatives directed towards addressing local issues, such as to help the younger generation in need. We strongly believe that these children have great futures and they need our support to realise their potential. We want them to grow up strong, healthy, and have the same opportunity for education like most children in Malaysia.”
During the visit, the staff and management of Bridgestone Malaysia spent time bonding with the children. The visit received a very warm welcome from the children and the centre’s staff. It also gave Bridgestone Malaysia’s employees the opportunity to reach out to the less fortunate and have them want to continue such social contribution activities on their own.
