A disappointing turn out for the opening round of the Asian Le Mans series at Korea’s Inje raceway.Only eight cars will started the race with two LMP2 cars, two CN category cars and four GT machines. Starting it’s second year, the new series expected around 15 cars later in the series but even then one has to wonder how viable the series can be with such a poor entry. In Free Practice for the race, the OAK Racing Team Total were the top LM P2 team.
Their #1 Morgan-Judd recorded the quickest lap time of 1:25.41 and a top speed of 164.711 km/h. Craft-Bamboo Racing were the top CN team in their #45 LIGIER JS 53 EVO with a fastest lap time of 1:30.111 and top speed of 156.127 km/h.
Taiwan’s Team AAI has 3 cars racing at Asian LMS 3 Hours of Inje, and it was their #91 BMW Z4 GT3 with the fastest lap time of 1:33.513 and top speed of 150.448 km/h in Free Practice 1
OAK Racing Team Total’s Ho-Pin Tung clocked the fastest lap time of the Free Practice 2 – 1:25.341 in #1 Morgan-Judd, as OAK Racing continued their impressive form in the Free Practice sessions and lead the LMP2 teams.
Craft-Bamboo Racing were once again able to take the over top spot in CN Category for Free Practice 2. It drove superbly to record the fastest lap time of 1:30.173 and top speed of 156.020 km/h. Team AAI #90 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 led the GT Category with very small difference, and the battle amongst the GT cars remains fierce.
