Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, recently announced the launch of its representative office for Subaru in Singapore. FHI Singapore Representative Office, located at Raffles Place will be staffed by three employees, and will serve as a hub for activities focused on market research and feasibility studies in the region,as FHI considers further expansion of its Subaru business.
In addition to Singapore where Subaru has long been well received as a safety-centric and a distinctive brand, the sales of Subaru cars have been dramatically increasing in other ASEAN markets such as Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia over the past couple of years.
With the Subaru brand having been very successful in Japan, the United States, Australia and China, FHI hopes to tap into this momentum by establishing an office here in Singapore. FHI has identified ASEAN as a market strategically more important than ever for Subaru, and Singapore serves as a good base to learn more about the opportunities available here and in the wider region.
The opening of the representative office in Singapore marks another milestone for Subaru, helping to strengthen its presence in the region and raise the bar of excellence through a better understanding of the customers’ needs. Subaru cars such as Legacy, Impreza, Subaru XV, Forester, and WRX STI are distributed throughout Asia by authorised distributors such as Motor Image Group who have been significantly contributing to the business development as long-term partners.
