Team EKS’ unique Audi S1 race car has been presented today in a more complete form, wearing S1 body parts instead of the A1 quattro ones it a couple of months ago.
Details are still scarce, but the rallycross team has revealed the new wheels come from OZ Racing, the suspension from Ohlins and the racing brake pads from Pagid. Power will probably come from a tuned 2-liter engine making the same 600 hp as a Fiesta S2000. Using all four wheels, the racer will compete against other small European cars, like the Citroen DS3, Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Fiesta ST. The 2014 season is also packed with famous drivers, such as Foust, Ken Block, Jacques Villeneuve, and Petter Solberg.
“This year our plans are to complete as much research and development of the car that we can for the future. Our goal is of course to build the best car. I grew up in the rallycross paddock because of my father and I’m very excited about driving a Supercar this year and to witness the sport growing as a World Championship,” said Swedish racing driver and two-time DTM champ Mattias Ekstrom.
