The first PlayStation-related listing, on a website related to the Indonesian Ministry of Communications, shows the model number CUH-1106A. As the Asian model number of the PlayStation 4 is CUH-1006A, this could be indicative of a revised model of the hardware platform. The second listing shows the model name CECH-4306CH, referring to the PlayStation 3. The slim version of the PS3 has the model name CECH-4001A, so this might indicate that the company is planning a revision of sorts for the hardware platform.
Sony Working On New PlayStation 3 & 4 Models
Sony has undeniably taken the lead in the next-generation console war, having sold over 7 million PlayStation 4 computer entertainment systems so far, with a projected aggregate of 17 million PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 to be sold by the end of this fiscal year. In addition to this, Sony reported that around half of the adopters of its next-gen console are also paying the monthly subscription fee for the company’s PlayStation Plus service. Now, Sony is apparently looking to make some revisions to its hardware to further capitalize on its lead. According to two separate listings, the company is currently working on new models for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4.
