The already launched Porsche Macan ‘S’, Macan Turbo and Macan S Diesel will all come equipped with V6 engines, but the base model Macan SUV which is strongly rumored to be released will get a 4-cylinder 2-liter turbo engine rated at 237hp from 5000 rpm and a peak torque of 35 Nm from 1,500 rpm while mated to a PDK gearbox. The exact displacement will probably be 1984cc, which is exactly the same as in the Audi Q5 TFSI. Despite being mechanically similar, Porsche will of course have a way to make its SUV faster than the Q5 with a 0 to 100 km/h run capable in just 6.9 seconds, compared to the 7.6 seconds that the Audi Q5 TFSI quattro model with S-tronic will do.
Standard trim will include 18-inch alloy wheels, comfort seats with Alcantara trim, a multifunctional steering wheel and a dual-zone climate control system. Average fuel economy will hit 7.5 liters per 100 kilometers. This also means that the hot selling Range Rover Evoque will have a direct competitor knocking at its door very soon.
