Jaguar’s technical specialist for performance and drive dynamics, Tim Clark has said that all-wheel drive doesn’t make a sports car experience as the models using AWD drive in a very different way. That is why, Jaguar is not considering four-wheel-drive cars, because it needs to do a lot of re-engineering in order to make its cars offer the same experience as the RWD models.
Currently, Jaguar offers plenty of high-performance models and the latest addition is the 2015 XFR-S Sportbrake, which was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show back in March. This model is powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that generates 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque, enough to push it from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and to a top speed of 300 km/h.
The F-Type R Coupe was also introduced back in November 2013 and uses the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that develops 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. Using an eight-speed Quickshift transmission, the F-Type R Coupe zooms from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed electronically limited at 300km/h.
The Jaguar XFR-S sedan was brought by Jaguar to the 2012 LA Auto Show and is powered by the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that develops 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. This model hits 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, while its top speed is 300 km/h.
If you want a coupe, Jaguar offers the XKR-S with the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 which pumps out 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. The coupe hits 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed electronically limited at 680 Nm of torque. Jaguar also rolled out the XKR-S GT, a more track-focused version of the XKR-S Coupe.
This model uses the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that delivers 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. Thanks to the use of lightweight materials, this model hits 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, while top speed is limited at 300 km/h.
