Honda and its Chinese partner Dongfeng are taking their joint venture further in the Chinese market with a new sedan. Honda and Dongfeng unveiled a concept car that hints at the new generation Spirior sedan. First introduced in 2009, the Spirior sedan targets the younger buying public and was well received for those who wanted a roomy car in urban Chinese cities. The concept car features aggressive lines, with sporty front bumper, new side skirts, a mesh grille, some LED lights, many black accents, newly designed alloy wheels and many chrome inserts.
The concept hints at a production version that will “achieve significant advancements in exterior design, dynamic performance and technologies as well as safety features.” This new sedan will be powered by a Honda 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine which will be fitted with an 8-speed dual clutch transmission. It will also be equipped with safety features like blind spot display systems, head-up display system and lane departure warning system. The production is scheduled to begin at the end of this year.
