Hyundai is preparing to enter the compact SUV segment and will unveil at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show its all-new IX25 model. According to Hyundai insiders, they will build this model in China, as part of a joint venture with BAIC. The upcoming IX25 will use the same platform found on the I20, but this is not all as the compact SUV will also get the engines used by the supermini, which means that we will find 1.2-liter and 1.4-liter petrol engines as well as the 1.4-liter turbodiesel. For the design, the Hyundai IX25 will be inspired by the Curb Concept that was unveiled back in 2011. Still, don’t expect such a radical design as Hyundai will bring the vehicle to a ‘normal’ design. For the moment, the Korean manufacturer is planning to sell this model only in China, but we will not act surprised if the IX25 will be brought to Europe or even the United States.
