An image of the Toyota Aqua Air concept has leaked out ahead of the car’s debut, and it is believed to be a design study for a convertible version of the Toyota Prius next generation model. Leaked details suggest it will be powered by the same petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain, with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine teamed to a electric motor and CVT automatic returning a frugal fuel use figure of 2.8L/100km on the Japanese cycle. The concept model measures 3.99 metres long, 1.69m wide and 1.44m tall. It features an evolved exterior design that builds on a sportier version of the Prius C shown by Toyota Japan earlier this year. A ruggedly styled off-road concept version of the Prius C may also be shown, with overseas reports stating a model known as Aqua Cross will be shown alongside the Aqua Air.
