Taken over by Fiat, who first put it under Ferrari’s umbrella and then it paired with Alfa Romeo, Maserati has been struggling to see profits in recent years, but it has been tough until recently. This year there seems to be a resurrection taking place at the brand with the trident, as both sales and the model lineup have been completely revamped.
With two completely new models that appear to be rather successful since launch (the latest Quattroporte and the Ghibli), a third one in the pipeline, Maserati has just produced its 10,000th model in their Avv. Giovanni Agnelli plant in Grugliasco, in the city of Turin. This factory is the old Carrozzeria Bertone factory, which was taken over by Fiat back in 2009. Now sporting a ‘Trident’ instead of the famous ‘B’, the plant manufactured no less than 8,200 units of the Maserati Quattroporte and 1,800 units of the Ghibli from January 30 until last week, when the 10,000 model milestone was reached.
