Here is KTM showing their version of the bike which riders Marc Coma, Kurt Caselli and Ruben Faria will possibly win the toughest cross-country race event in January 2014.
This 2014 Dakar 2-wheel machines will be first tested in the Morocco Rally, the last major cross-country event of the year. This rally provides teams and riders with extensive knowledge on how the bike performs in actual racing conditions, allowing them to make the final refinements and adjustments prior to the South American ordeal.
KTM is a constant winner of the Dakar rallies and actually won the last 3 editions in a row, with Marc Coma and Cyril Despres, who now rides for Yamaha. The Morocco rally will also see Chilean Francisco Lopez joining the three aboard the 2013-spec Dakar machine. Coma is currently leading the world rally ranking, with a frail 3-point advantage over Speedbrain’s Paulo Goncalves. The OiLibya Rally of Morocco, which replaced the Pharaoh’s Rally, will see 74 riders starting, with 1,517 km of special stages which will run from the 13th to the 19th of October 2013.
