Shell challenges students to push the limits of fuel efficiency by bringing back the Shell FuelSave College Competition for the 3rd year. This year, participating students from private and public universities and colleges will plan and execute a multi-channel communications campaign for Shell Malaysia in promoting and educating the next generation of Malaysian drivers on fuel efficiency.
The Shell FuelSave College Competition aims to provide young and bright Malaysians with first-hand experience of the working world of business, marketing and communications industries. By supporting the younger generation and promoting the savings mentality, Shell Malaysia aims to improve the quality of life in the communities that they serve.
This year’s challenge provides students with deeper insight on how an integrated communications campaign is prepared, executed and measured across multiple channels including the introduction of social media. Students will be tasked to use popular social media platforms to encourage participation from fellow students and drive trackable conversations around their campaign.
Participating students will go through the full experience of planning a campaign from taking a brief to presenting their proposals to a panel of judges from Shell Malaysia and its partner agencies, and to bringing their proposals to life by executing on-campus activities and creating a social media buzz.
This year, a special mentoring session for the students will be organised where they will be coached and given essential tips on how to develop and create successful campaigns by experts who specialize in the marketing and communications fields.
The esteemed panel of judges will consist of industry leaders from Shell Malaysia and its media and international communications agency partners.
The winning university or college team will be crowned the Shell FuelSave College Competition Champion 2013 and will bring home RM15,000, a championship trophy as well as the potential internship opportunities with Shell Malaysia and its media and international communications agency partners. First runner-up will win RM8,000 and a plaque, followed by RM5, 000 and a plaque for the second runner up.
The seven participating universities and colleges are HELP University College, IACT College, Sunway University, Taylor’s University, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, UCSI University and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
The Shell FuelSave College Competition is an extension of Shell’s agenda on addressing the energy needs of the future now through smarter product, smarter infrastructure and smarter use. For more information, please visit www.shell.com.my
