Kawasaki has launched the Z250 in Malaysia at a price starting from RM21,589.00. It is safe to say the Z250 is the streetfighter or naked version of the very popular Ninja 250R. Thus both bikes share a lot of parts and this is the first time Kawasaki has dropped the full fairing on the Ninja 250R to target a new set of buyers. The Z250 looks very similar to its elder sibling, the Z800, which is a very good thing indeed as it provides owners with an aggressive looking streetbike at an affordable price.
Powering the Kawasaki Z250 is a 250cc, parallel-twin, liquid cooled fuel-injected engine which is expected to belt out 32bhp of peak power and 21 Nm of peak torque. The redline comes up at a stratospheric 11,000rpm. This motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Performance is nothing short of breath taking and the Z250 is accepted to be slightly faster with lower weight due to lesser body panels. Offered in three colors – candy red, flat black and pearl white, the Z250 is manufactured at Kawasaki’s Malaysian plant.
Kawasaki has been known to price its products higher than the competition in Malaysia, however this Z250′s is priced to compete head on with the rest. This makes the Kawasaki Z250 to be a more value for money motorcycle, considering it offers more power and performance for a now better selling price. The Z250 comes with a 1 year warranty or 10,000km distance ride (whichever comes first).
