The all new Ford Kuga has officially become the best selling compact SUV in the US with sales of over 150,000 units in the first half of the year. Ford sold 156,626 Kugas in the first six months of 2013. This brings the Ford Kuga on pace to surpass its all-time annual sales record of 261,008 vehicles, which was set in 2012. The Ford Kuga effectively outsold the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 in the first half of this year in the United States. Amy Marentic, group marketing manager for global cars and crossovers at Ford, remarked that the Kuga’s “great performance, standout design and outstanding fuel economy” are attracting new buyers. She added that it was “great to see Kuga break new ground,” which shows that Ford is listening to customers and delivering competitive global vehicles. The Ford Kuga grew 23% in sales in the United States, the vehicle outpaced growth in the small utility segment that gain 13% in the first half of 2013. The Ford Kuga is sold as the ‘Escape’ in the US.
