The Isle of Man-based rider will switch from the satellite Tech3 Yamaha team. Crutchlow, 27, will replace 2006 world champion Nicky Hayden in the Italian marque’s team, alongside former Yamaha team-mate Andrea Dovizioso.
Yamaha, meanwhile, have confirmed exciting young Spaniard Pol Espargaro will take over from Crutchlow, alongside Oxford’s Bradley Smith. Crutchlow has had four podium finishes in the first half of the campaign and is currently fifth in the overall standings. Moto2 leader Scott Redding, 22, is set to confirm his move up to MotoGP for 2014.
