Alvaro Parente in the Sebastien Loeb Racing McLaren MP4-12C took a storming maiden overall pole-position in FIA GT Series this morning at a sun-drenched Circuit Park Zandvoort. HTP Gravity Charouz continued their excellent form, taking both the Pro-Am Cup and Gentlemen Trophy pole-positions with Andreas Simonsen and Jan Stovicek respectively.
A highly-competitive Superpole session saw three drivers trade times at the very top of the time sheet, but Parente’s lap of 1:37.923 near the midpoint of the session was good enough to ensure that the Sebastien Loeb Racing driver would finish on top and claim their second class pole-position, despite strong efforts from Mercedes, Audi, BMW and Ferrari teams.
