This new concept Golf GTI is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 503 hp and 560 Nm of torque between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. According to VW, the ‘Design Vision GTI’ will able to hit 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and will have a top speed of 300km/h. Visually, the Design Vision GTI looks impressive, which means that the team under the aegis of Klaus Bischoff (Head of Design of Volkswagen Brand) did its job. As you can see from the photos, the concept comes with enlarged side sills and C pillars which create space for the enlarged track widths and specially developed 20-inch wheels wrapped in 235 tyres in the front and 275 tyres at the rear.
The interior was also overhauled and the Design Vision GTI comes with few switches, a new steering wheel equipped with ergonomically optimized DSG gear shift paddles. Moreover, the driving mode switches are located (“Street,” “Sport” and “Track”) under the cross panels; the start button is on the right. Furthermore, the Design Vision GTI features switches and rugged turn knobs for climate control but also for the lights, fire extinguisher and ESP deactivation. A large display is also present to the right of the main instruments.
