The guys from TRD (Toyota Racing Development) have created a special package for the 2014 Lexus IS. On the exterior, TRD have equipped this Japanese sedan with a new aerodynamic kit. It comes with a new front spoiler, special side skirts, a modified rear diffuser and a trunk mounted spoiler. The customers also can choose a four tailpipe sport exhaust and some special 19 inch rims. For a better handling, the engineers from TRD said they installed a new rear performance dumper and a special suspension with new shocks and springs.
The package is a visual overhaul, meaning there are no changes under the hood but a few performance tweaks are included. The blacked out Lexus is sleek & stylish. The full body kit puts air deflectors on the font bumper and back through the side skirts, a trunk lid spoiler and a rear bumper fitted for a quad exhaust system. The shocks and springs were sharpened and the dampers, sway bar, and bracing was replaced. The best of the best is the set of 19-inch forged aluminum wheels. Pricing is available for customers in Japan. The 2014 Lexus IS TRD is currently only available on the Japanese market with the bodykit costing the equivalent of USD4270, the suspension upgrades costing USD2817 and the wheels starting at USD5,150. The kit will be available for both the IS 250 and IS 350 trim, with the standard 2014 Lexus IS 250 featuring a 2.5-liter V6 engine delivering 200hp while the 2014 Lexus IS 350 is powering by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 306hp.
