Kawasaki has officially launched the Z250 in Indonesia featuring the same parallel-twin engine (in slightly smaller displacement) found in the Ninja 300. It is safe to say the Z250 is the streetfighter or naked version of the Ninja 250R. Thus both bikes share a lot of parts and this is the first time Kawasaki has dropped the full fairing on the Ninja 250R to target a new set of buyers. The Z250 looks very similar to its elder sibling, the Z800, which is a very good thing indeed.
Powering the Kawasaki Z250 is a 250cc, parallel-twin, fuel-injected engine which is expected to belt out 33 BHP of peak power and 22 Nm of peak torque. The redline comes up at a stratospheric 13,000 RPM. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Performance is nothing short of breath taking and the Z250 is excepted to be slightly faster with lower weight due to lesser body panels. Offered in three colors – red, black and white, the Z250 is manufactured at Kawasaki’s Thailand plant. Wait for the Malaysian launch.
