Aston Hare closed the gap in the JK Racing Asia Series Championship yesterday afternoon when he claimed both race wins from Pole for Rounds 13 & 14 at Buddh International Circuit. Two exciting races were held today in front of the SIDVIN Festival of Speed crowd at the Indian circuit, where Hare and Afiq Ikhwan climbed on the podium twice whilst Championship leader Nabil Jeffri was left with two troubled races with penalties.
Jeffri’s first race was marred when he had a collision with his Eurointernational teammate that left his car damaged as Hare spun on the track dropping down the order from the lead. Both drivers rejoined the race but while Hare recovered his lead, Jeffri tried to pit in to change tyres and as he left was penalised with a drive through for speeding in the pitlane and went on to finish the race in tenth.
Jeffri still leads the Championship but now with a marginal 12 points lead from Hare and while Ikhwan realistically put his chances at winning the Championship aside saying he just wants to win races this weekend. For Hare, he was happy with the races but is still looking forward to two more good battles tomorrow after two good races today. The JK Racing Asia Series will continue with Rounds 15 & 16 will be held Sunday, 2 December 2012, scheduled at 1.10pm and 4.30pm respectively.
