Porsche’s new compact crossover, the ‘Macan’ is now even closer to real production as there is confirmation that it will receive a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine delivering more than 370 hp when it arrives in European dealerships new year. Yes this new compact SUV has been confirmed for production and its new engine will be based on the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter engine in the Cayenne and Panamera, which delivers 300 hp and 295 pounds-feet of torque. Still, the Porsche Macan will be the first vehicle to receive a direct-injection petrol engine planned for service in a range of Porsches. The engine was tested before in prototype mules of Audi Q5 and Porsche Cayenne. Moreover, the new powerplant will sit longitudinally and provide drive through an Audi-sourced torque-sensing all-wheel-drive system.
