Chan Chong Wei is a true-blue fan of Honda, so you can imagine his delight upon discovering he had won a Honda Insight in the Lipton 7Up Natural Art contest! “I was surprised, yet very, very happy,” 32-year-old IT trainer from Petaling Jaya said after receiving the keys to his RM95,000 new ride at a prize presentation ceremony here. “I’ve always loved Honda and owning an Insight is a dream come true.”
Chan, who currently drives a City, added that he hoped his four-year-old son would follow in his Honda-loving footsteps, but as of now, “he only likes ‘red’ cars”. Organised by Permanis Sdn Bhd, the RM125,000 Lipton 7Up Natural Art contest required contestants to vote for their favourite landmark from seven well-known structures that included the Petronas Twin Towers, the Sphinx in Egypt and the Taj Mahal in India. They were also required to answer two simple questions and mail in entries accompanied by a specified number of labels from Lipton Ice Tea or 7Up bottles and cans.
The Lipton 7Up Natural Art contest also awarded a Panasonic plasma TV each as two first prizes and a Canon DSLR each to five second prize winners. Ten third prize winners each took home an OSIM Head and Shoulder Massager while 25 special prize winners each received a RM100 Body Shop voucher. Present at the prize-giving ceremony were Permanis Vice President of Marketing Hemalatha Ragavan, AutoWorld Asia managing director Dato’ Bhaskaran Pillai and Honda Malaysia executive Rephin Chew Soo Fung.
“We decided to offer an eco-friendly prize in keeping with our efforts to keep things as natural and green as possible,” said Hemalatha. ““We’re sure Chan will enjoy his Grand prize as it achieves greater fuel economy and lower carbon dioxide emissions.” She added that the Lipton 7Up Natural Art contest was among Permanis’ many initiatives to reward consumers for their support of the company’s numerous beverage brands.
