Perodua car owners can look forward to a smoother and safer journey to their respective hometowns during their “Balik Kampung” exodus, with the free 15-point inspection by Perodua at 2 designated Petronas service stations along the North-South and East Coast expressways. The service will be available at the Petronas service stations located at the following rest and service areas – Tapah (northbound) and Bentong (eastbound) – from 9.00 am -6.00pm starting 26 August to 29 August.
“This is the second consecutive year Perodua is participating in the “Petronas Coffee Break” campaign for the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri,” Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said. The 15-point inspection includes an engine check, transmission check, coolant system (includes coolant level as well as fan and temperature), brake system check (includes brake fluid and brake pad wear), power steering system check, clutch system check, tyre check, suspension system check, electrical system check (includes battery, lights and wiper checks) and engine diagnosis. Perodua will provide 3 mechanics at each of the designated service stations to conduct the checks.
“Perodua vehicle owners will be advised to proceed to our nearest service outlets by the mechanics if their vehicles are required to undergo repairs or get the necessary parts replaced. They will also enjoy a 15% discount on parts at the Perodua outlets,” he added.
“This 15-point check at the designated rest areas is in addition to our first-of-its-kind Tweckbot, a Twitter-based free safety check in Malaysia launched in July this year. For the Tweckbot service, anyone with a Twitter account can send a request to a nearby Perodua mobile team for a similar 15-point safety check for the Raya holidays,” Aminar said. The Tweckbot, which is a word that combines Twitter, check and robot, is the name for Perodua’s mobile team that will travel within the Klang Valley with the objective of giving Perodua customers peace of mind while making the exodus to their respective kampungs.
“This pilot project received an overwhelming response and we are now considering extending the Tweckbot to other regions during the main festivals in Malaysia,” Aminar said.
“Perodua is committed with such Corporate Responsibility activities focusing on road safety as we are equally concerned on the number of road accidents during festive seasons,” he said.
“We wish everyone a safe journey back to their respective home towns for the Hari Raya and also for the non-Muslims going for holidays or to other destinations,” Aminar.
