Selling at RM 99,800 the Insight offers superb fuel efficiency with Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system. This is why sales of the Insight have been very good so far. But delivery issues have reduced its numbers since the earthquake in Japan. Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd expects the sales of Insight to regain momentum as production in Japan has recovered since June and the waiting period for Insight has been shortened to less than a month. Previously, the waiting period for Insight was two to three months long. All authorised Honda dealers have resumed taking order for Insight since June 1 after a brief suspension from April till May.
“Insight emerged as a popular choice among the Green customers as it arrived in Malaysia at the right time at the right price. Thanks to the Government, both import and excise duty are exempted, thus making Insight more affordable,” remarked Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia.
Following its auspicious debut in December last year, Insight has appealed to a whole new target market who had not considered hybrid vehicles before. In six months since the launch on February 15, Honda Malaysia has sold more than 3,000 units, which exceeded 75% of the annual target.
“Now that the production in Japan has resumed with full force, the supply for Insights is very much improved. Hence now is a good time to visit Honda’s authorised dealer and book the car,” Mr. Ueno ended with an upbeat note.
As hybrid vehicles gain favour among customers, the Company has plans to expand its hybrid variety by end of the year. To get your Insight before the tax incentive ends, visit your nearest authorised Honda dealers today. For more information, please visit www.honda.com.my.
