Suzuki Malaysia introduces a refined Suzuki Swift 1.5L GLX

Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd (SMA) unveiled a refined Suzuki Swift. The desirability of the Suzuki Swift has gone up a few notches as SMA has now introduced the newly-refined Swift that incorporates exciting new features, adding more dynamism and substantiality to an internationally-acclaimed car that’s renowned for its fun driving performance, exuberant styling, advanced safety technologies and fuel efficiency.
The Swift 1.5L GLX now comes with a distinctively stylish and dynamic look with class-leading premium features, and the new aggressive look instantly suggests its sporting potential. Among the new external features unique to the Swift 1.5L GLX are deeper front bumpers incorporating a sporty front face, distinctive lower grille and sporty side skirting.

The selling price of the new Swift 1.5L GLX Auto is RM75,788.00 (OTR with insurance for Peninsula Malaysia). 5 new colours will be available.  Bayside Blue, Serene Silver, Supreme Red, Tranquility Black and Superior White.

SMA also announced the company’s half year performance. At present, Suzuki market share has increased from 1.1% posted last year, January to December 2010 to 1.4% this year, January to June 2011. So far, from the TIV of 297,203u registered in 2011 Suzuki has thus far put 4,086 vehicles on the road, marking an overall improvement of 27% from January to June figures posted in 2010. Within the non-national market segment, Suzuki market share has increased from 2.6% last year to 3.1% up to June this year. The biggest contribution to these improved sales figures is by the continuous strong demand for the Swift which covers 67% of the company total sales. In addition, Swift sales increased by 5% from last year where the company sold 2,588 units from January to June 2010 as compared to 2,730u so far this year. While the Swift has been dominating the non-national B-Hatchback Segment with 59% market share, Alto sales figures have also shown that this model is gaining market acceptance in the non-national A-Hatchback Segment which retail sales has reached 610u so far this year and represented 23% of market share. The ever popular SX4 hatchback retail sales has increased by 28% as compared to the previous year with a market share of 23% in the non-national C- Hatchback Segment contributed 461u to date compared to 329u last year. Last but not least Grand Vitara’s figures have also shown that this model is still going strong in the non-national SUV Segment with a 4% market share.
