The current Nissan GT-R is already a very powerful vehicle with its impressive 530 hp delivered by the 3.8-liter DOHC V6 engine where it has taken on the best German supercars. Still, the engineers at Nissan have not be sitting around and playing Gran Tourismo. They have instead improved on the GT-R which is great news for all ‘Godzilla’ fans. The 2012 JDM model GT-R will get some more power. The 2012 Nissan GT-R JDM will get an extra 30 hp, giving it a total output of 560 hp. Moreover, the Japanese manufacturer is planning to introduce the ‘Spec R’ version of the GT-R which will succeed the Spec V.
The power increase of the 2012 GT-R JDM model will be one of the worst news for sports car manufacturers such as Porsche, as the new car is expected to be very fast on the Nurburgring racetrack. Sources also confirmed the fact that the Nissan GT-R will start Nurburgring tests by the end of May.
What is even more interesting is that the new Spec R version will be lighter, and fans should expect a slight reduction of 30-40 kilograms in overall weight. As expected, the 2012 GT-R JDM model will also be more fuel efficient. Watch for local parallel car importers to have this new model in showrooms next year.
